He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil Sockwell and Libby Sockwell; and his brother Kenneth Sockwell. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sockwell; his children, Barry Sockwell, Mike Sockwell and Allison Campbell (Randy); his stepmother Betty Sockwell; his friends, Tony, Renee South, Ryan Keenum and Ron Weaver (Erin); his grandchildren, Alexander Sockwell (Alex) and Tate Sockwell; and his great grandchildren, Jaxton Ray Sockwell and Jett Asher Sockwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, at the family's request any donations to be made to Hatton Baptist Church at 2105 Hatton School Rd. Leighton, AL 35646.
