He was predeceased by: his brothers, Claude Elrod, Charles Elrod, Jack Elrod and Larry Elrod; and his parents, Earl C. Elrod and Katie Elrod.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Elrod; his children, Earnest Ted Elrod, Jr. (Rose), Carol S. Norris (Doug) and Cathy L Elrod; and his sister Earlene Pruitt (Wendell). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
