He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Sayers; his parents, Edward Sayers and Lillian Sayers; his siblings, Edward Sayers, Jr. and Jamie S. Hamill; and his daughter Jane S. Pilkington.

He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Mackey (David) and Jennifer; and his grandchildren, Trista Taylor, Randall Mackey (Lily), Nicole Powell, Andrea Howard (Brandon) and Josh Pilkington (Amanda). He is also survived by Friend (Veronica), and Alanna Maddox (Brian) and 8 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leeds 1st United Methodist Church.
