He was predeceased by: his wife Edna Pilgrim; his son Gary Pilgrim; and his grandchildren, Kevin, Jacob Pilgrim and Stephanie Pilgrim.

He is survived by: his sons, Larry Pilgrim and David Pilgrim (Larua); his sister Shirley Spruell; his grandchildren, Sheila, Misty, Mike, Christina, Josh, Corey and Little David; and his great grandchildren, Alex and Jessie.
