She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Jerry Spurgeon; her brothers, Junior and Larry Leathers; her children, Nancy Allen (Brad), Tammy Howell (Harvey) and Yasmine Winslett; her grandchildren, Ashly Dixon (Will), Christopher Howell (Emma), Wendy Howell (Jennifer) and Lecresha Thornton; her siblings, Jean Writesman, Troy Leathers (Sarah) and Michael David Leathers; and her parents, Buck Leathers and Rachel Louise Leathers. She was also cherished by ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kilgroe Funeral Home (1750 Ashville Rd, Leeds, AL 35094). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
