He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Jasper, Cladie Foster, Benjamin and Mollie Garrett; his parents, Lewis Garrett and Lurene Garrett; and his sister Ritha Ann Garrett.

He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Phillips (David) and Edward Garrett; and his nieces and nephews, Tammy, Lori, Joe, Edward Jr. and Jeff. He is also survived by 12 great nieces and nephews.
