She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilburn McMurry and Dora McMurry; her brother Richard McMurry; and her niece Cindy Kirn. She is survived by: her husband Charlie VanMeter; her children, David Johnson (Angelyn) and Susie; her sister Frances Robinson (Al); her grandchildren, David Johnson (Charlotte), Daryl Johnson (Kaley), Ashley Young (Stephen), Anna Flebotte and Emma Flebotte; her great grandchildren, Kaleb Driskill, Ava Johnson, Noah Young and Sadie Young; and her niece Stephanie Page (Chad). She is also survived by many cousins, family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Freida requested donations to the Sjogren's Foundation in honor of her granddaughter, Ashley Young.
