It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances Compton (Leeds, Alabama), who passed away on March 28, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Robert Compton Sr. (Bob) of Leeds, AL.; and her parents, Raymond Gilbert and Mary E. Newton (Arley Mize). She is survived by: her children, Carol Welbourne (Jody), Fred Robert Compton Jr., David E. Compton, Susann Hughey (Dale) and Marie Elizabeth Compton; her sisters, Maudie Whiddon, Gloria Simmons (Harold) and Mary Jo Walker; her sisters-in-law, Fay Newton and Nell Newton; and her siblings, Danny Newton, Charles Newton and Ruth Whitmire. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
