She was predeceased by: her husband Jesse R. Peterson; her son Robert H. Peterson; her grandson Cody F. Peterson; her great grandchild Kayleigh G. Heartsill; her parents, Earnel Owens and Erma Sexton Owens; and her siblings, Ensley Owens, Earl Owens, Elvin Owens, Era Merle Williams and Earnestine Owens.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Peterson (Martha), Vickie Heartsill (Bob), Tim Peterson (Loretta) and Selina Stokes (Rex); her grandchildren, Robbi Peterson, Dana Evens, Kathy Lovell, Sybil Johnson, Rhianna Yearby, Ashlie Bloodworth, Josh Heartsill, Samantha Peterson, Matthew Peterson and Javarius Means; and her friends, Martha Defee, Dean Brown and Melba Keene. She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
