It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Wayne Russell Jr. of Lapine, Alabama, who passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Russell and Myrtis Russell of Lapine, Alabama.; and his sister Bonnie Karen Russell. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Anne Till Russell (Shan); his children, Mitzi Russell McIntyre (Innes) of Montgomery, Rusty Russell (Amy) of Auburn and Tina Russell Douglass (Jim) of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Matt McIntyre (Brooke), Caroline McIntyre Nichols (Hayden), Christina Douglass, Jay Douglass (Catherine), Russell McIntyre, Katie McIntyre and Anna Douglass; his great grandchild Fletcher McIntyre; and his brothers, Tom Russell (Jane) and Earl Russell (Dianne).

Donations may be made in his memory to The Montgomery Cancer Center, Dana-Farber Hospital's Jimmy Fund, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
