With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Wallace Meadows (Lanett, Alabama), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Ernest E. Meadows and Odessa Williams Meadows; and his siblings, Herbert, Charlie, Euguene, Joe and Fannie Pearl.
He is survived by: his children, Wallace Dwyane Douglas (Lucretia) of Toledo, OH, Michele Meadows of Cleveland, OH, Eric Tolliver, Michael Tolliver (Patricia) of Bellaire, OH, Mario Jones of Cleveland, OH, Dexter Staples (Monique) of Chattanooga, TN, Tamarra Mace of Cleveland, OH, Patrice Meadows of Atlanta, GA, Melika Meadows (Greg) and Heinrich of Atlanta, GA; and his siblings, Wilson (Jeanette) Meadows, Mamie (George), Moore of Louisville, KY, Lena (James), Ansley of Chattanooga, TN, Linda (Inman) and Montgomery of Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, loved ones, and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Black Belt Justice Center, a nonprofit that supports African American farmers, landowners, and communities in efforts to retain and increase land ownership to ensure intergenerational and community wealth.
