He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Mae Jones and Charlie Spidell; his grandparents, Mollie Jones and Jasper Spidell; and his siblings, Josie Spidell, Flora Dennis, Elaine Boyd and Amos Spidell.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Potts of Atlanta, GA, Bernadette Winston (Calvin) of Lanett, AL and James Spence of Atlanta, GA; his siblings, Janice Spidell, Sharon Johnson (Oscar) of Lanett, AL and Ulysses Huguley, Jr. (Ricky) of Lanett, AL; and also Larry Lovelace of Lanett, AL.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
