Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Essie Maude Simonton leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde D. Simonton and Doris Cofield Simonton; and her husband William Carl Pilgrim. She is survived by: her children, Rev. Nick Pilgrim (Janet), Ginny Sammons (Clarence) and Susan Gebhardt (Michael). She is also survived by five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home (506 Hill St, LaGrange, GA 30241). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
