He was predeceased by: his former wife Jeanette Chastant Bender; and his parents, Ralph M. Bender, Sr. and Lucinda Austin Hanna Bender. He is survived by: his wife Delores "Doty" Bender of Lafayette; his children, Barbara Williams (Herb), Dawn Hymel (Robbie), Laura Fayette (Earlis), Robert "Bobby" Bender (Lois) and David Bender; his grandchildren, Philip, Jerome, Jeremy Bender, Earlis, Jr., Lydia Fayette, Todd Williams and Cory Hymel; and his great grandchildren, Noah Bender, Caleb Bender, Simon Bender and Zane Bender. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
