He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Jeanette Jones, Sr. (Douglas) of LaFayette, AL, Carrey Blackmon (James) of Alexander City, AL, Joshua Dowdell (Yomeisha) of LaGrange and Joseph Dowdell (Yolanda) of Montgomery, AL; his brothers, Willie Jr. Dowdell (Bobbie Jean) of Waverly, AL and Roger Dowdell of Waverly, AL; his siblings-in-law, Carrie Sue Henderson, Jannie Black (William), Mary Evans (Franklin), Felton Spence and Willie Joe Spence; and his friends, Charlie Abner, Ruby Seroyer Evans, Teddie Pulliam (Ms) and Esthella Bailey. He was also cherished by seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
