He was predeceased by: his mother Bonnie Woodall Brodtmann; and his brother-in-law Robert R. Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Kilchrist Brodtmann of Lafayette; his sister Jean Brodtmann Ayo (Donald Ayo) of Thibodeaux; his nephews, Bryan Hemard, Jr. (Sondra Ward Hemard) of Grand Junction, CO and Jeffrey Hemard (Amanda Ayseene Hemard) of Lafayette; his niece Dr. Danielle Hemard Melton of Houston, TX; and his siblings-in-law, Liz Kilchrist Gilbert of Lafayette, Tanja Kilchrist Gruber (Fred) of Sterling, IL, Karl Kilchrist (Robin Hood Kilchrist) of Lafayette and Chuck Kilchrist (Meghann McPartlin Kilchrist) of Abilene, TX. He is also survived by nieces and nephews in those relatives.
