He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife LaVerne Cotney of Valley; his son Peter Stephen Cotney (Roseann) of Decatur; his sister Soundra Hood (Wayne) of Shawmut; his sister-in-law Rev. LaNita Cotney of Valley; his grandchildren, Zachary Stephen Cotney, Victoria Darling Griffith, Jordan Rae Cotney, Savannah Grace Owens, Miles Trevor Greer and Erin McCall Greer; and his brother Gerald Bruce Cotney.
