He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmore J. Montz, Sr. and Inez Adele Guidry Montz; and his daughter Melissa Marie Montz. He is survived by: his wife Cecile Elrod Montz of Lafayette; his children, Matthew Maurice Montz (Jamie) of Maurice, Melanie Martha Montz Hernandez of Lafayette, LA, Michael Monroe Montz (Belinda) of San Antonio, TX and Morgan Merrill Montz (Bridgette) of Nashville, TN; his siblings, Virginia, Ruthie (Bruce), Jebby (Margaret), Madeline (Francis), Charlie (Charlene), Tommy, Lulu (Ronnie) and Mimi (Steve); and his grandchildren, Bryce Jude Hernandez, Kyle James Hernandez, Lauren Leigh Montz, Caleb Michael Montz, Nicholas Matthew Montz, Lily Alexandra Holloway, Gage Christopher Lormand, Logan Brent Montz, Abby Marie Montz and Laney Ruth Ann Montz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
