He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Bess Story; his children, Jeff Story and Tracy Fowler; his sister Vicky Blankenship; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Bess (Pat) and Eugene Bess (Betty). He is also survived by six grandchildren.
