He was predeceased by: his parents, William Adolphus and Mollie Ann Burkett Paul; and his siblings, Ondruss Paul, Walter D. Paul, O. P. Paul and Jessie Merleane "Coonie" Newsome.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Paul; his children, Anthony Paul and Tywanna Hayes (David) of Kinston; and his brother Janatious Paul (Mary) of Kinston. He is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
