He was predeceased by: his daughter Patricia Gail Amezquita; his siblings, Bobby Wayne Wise, Mary Jeanette Britt, and Elizabeth Elaine Ballard; his great-grandchild D. J. Wise; and his parents, Bertha Byrd Wise and Arthur Thomas Wise.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Holley Wise; his son Larry Wise (Brenda); his daughter Marie Wise Styles (Thomas) and his grandchildren, Tracy Carnley McLain (John), Derek Wise (Sadie), and David Wise. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
