She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Gardner and Alice Gardner; her husband Lester Goodwin; her grandsons, Joshua Mayfield and Stephen King; and her siblings, Laylon Gardner (Gus) and Marie Sharp.
She is survived by: her daughters, Peggy Mayfield, Jackie Pate (Kennith) and Robyn King (Edward); and her grandchildren, Scott Pate (Stacy), Kevin Pate, Heath Hays (Kat), Trent Hays (Gen), Dustin Pugh and Sarah Mayfield (Josh). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a nephew and several nieces.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home (225 Dana Rd, Warrior, AL 35180). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at the Morris Cemetery (8590 Stouts Rd, Morris, AL 35116).
