He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Thompson and Blanche Thompson; his siblings, Betty, JoAnn, Charles, Jack and Lavenia; his grandson Thomas Brooks Stephens, III; and his nephews, Mitch and Tommy Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Keith Thompson; his daughters, Joni Cook (Jim), Anita Smith (Charles Linebarger) and Julie Willis (Collin); his grandchildren, Emily Katherine Stephens, Benjamin Smith, Audrey Burnett (Justin), Angela Smith, Ashley Roberson (Nathan Williams), Grace Roberson and Addison Willis; his great grandchildren, Levi, Paislee and Anniston Smith; his brother Johnny Thompson (Bobbie); and his sister-in-law Vonda Thompson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
