With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Lawton Newton of Killen, Alabama, who passed away on January 28, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Harold Newton; and his wife Patsy Newton. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Newton; his sons, Douglas "Tony" Newton (Treva) and Chris James (Trisha); his siblings, Dewayne Newton (Cathy) and Lisha Fell (Billy); his grandchildren, Alexus, Austin, Hayley, Hannah, Kaley, Wes and Matt; his great grandchild Lucas; and his brother-in-law Jeff Cox (Felicia). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home of Florence (1950 Helton Drive, Florence, AL 35630). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
