He was predeceased by: his parents, Vona Butler Tate and Johnnie Tate; and his siblings, William (JR), Ralph, Paul Tate, Louise Taylor, Millinea Sledge and Freddie Mae Sledge.
He is survived by: his wife Scarlett; his children, Kami Tate, Diona Patton, David Skalba (Carrie Lynn) and Carrie Wildermuth (Jack); his grandchildren, Jordahn Hubbard (Cam), Cailee Rowlett and Joseph Jameson; his great grandchild Thea; and his siblings, Hurace Tate (Judy), Bob Tate (Judy), Shirley Pugh and Janie Luncford. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and countless friends.
