He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Garon and Dora Mae Hughes (Colvin); and his siblings, Geneva McDaniel, Betty Sue Brazeal, Alexander Hughes (Buddy) and E. J. Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Angelyn Hughes (Aldridge); his daughters, Risa Rast (Christopher) and Sonya Steger (Tyrone); his sister Evelyn Shelton (Eugene); and his grandchildren, Mackenzie and Logan Steger.
