He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Shelton and B. L. Shelton; his wife Ludy Black Shelton; his sons, Jerry Shelton, James Shelton and Tim Foster; and his brother Lynn Shelton.
He is survived by: his children, Jenita Watkins of Millport, AL, Kim McAdams (Terry) of Vernon, AL and Albert Shelton (Christy) of Fayette, AL; his daughter-in-law Desirae Foster of Gordo, AL; his siblings, Ray Shelton (Pat) of Kennedy, AL and Sara Bumpus (Raymond) of Kennedy, AL; his sister-in-law Margaret Shelton of Florence, AL.; and his close friend Betty Patchen. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
