With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur Lee Hartley of Jones, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 4, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Lee Hartley Sr. and Gaynez Elizabeth Heflin Hartley; and his brother John Othello Hartley. He is survived by: his wife Lizzie Dell Atchison Hartley; his children, Greg Hartley (Lori) of Pearl, MS, Pam Hartley Frasier (Mark) of Selma and Tony Hartley (Angela) of Mobile; his grandchildren, Gregory Hartley, Sarah Frasier Cox (John), Stanhope Frasier, Tayla Lee, Rachel Hartley Bush (David) and Michael Hartley; his great grandchildren, Grayson Lee and Frasier Cox; his siblings, Charles Hartley (Barbara) of Birmingham, Dean Hartley (Elaine) of Ashland, KY and Alyson Ellerin (Dave) of Denver, CO.; and his sister-in-law Toni Hartley of Birmingham. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He and his wife Dell moved to Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Selma in 2019, and he found new strength and purpose in serving as the facility's self-appointed pastor during the pandemic lockdown.
