He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Cox Hargett and Alfred A. Hargett, Sr.; his sisters, Donna Ruth Hargett and Cindy Lou Hargett; and his sons, Joshua and Jeremy M. Hargett.
He is survived by: his brother Richard M. Hargett, II (Kathy) of Pollocksville; and his grandchildren, Noah and Aloni. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
