She was predeceased by: her husband Earl Gothard; and her parents, Sam Smith, Sr. and Verta Stewart Smith. She is survived by: her children, Sharon Sumrall (Jeff), Richard E. Gothard (Lawana) and Mark Gothard (Wanda); her brothers, Sam Smith, Jr., James Smith and Jerry Smith (Joann); and her grandchildren, Karen Harrison (Marty), Aleah Mims (Jordan), Alexis Chapman (Kenny), Ashley Floyd (Josh), Kyle Sumrall (Aimee), Heath Gothard (Hailey) and Hanlon Gothard (Brandy). She is also survived by 19 Great-Grandchildren; Great, Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mars Hill Baptist Church (4335 County Rd 42, Jemison, AL 35085). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
