It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Juanita Payton of Jemison, Alabama, who passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Smith and Annie Mae Ray Smith; and her husband Luther Payton. She is survived by: her children, Lois Raines of Jemison, Joe Payton (Lisa) of Jemison and Sue Payton of Fort Payne; her siblings, Bobby Smith of Jemison, Wanda Green of Calera and Shirley Presley of Calera; her son Luther Wayne Payton; and her brothers, Randy Smith, Bill Smith and Clyde Smith. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren; 36 Great Grandchildren; 29 Great-Great Grandchildren.
