She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Smith and Bessie Mae Smith; and her brother Rodger Smith. She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Ray Atkinson (Barbara), David Brent Atkinson (Christy) and Charles Mathew Atkinson; her grandchildren, MacKenzie Atkinson, Katie Beach, Ben Beach, Emma Grace Mueller, Olivia Mueller, Jacob Coupland Moore, Kathryn Sara Moore, Brantlee Lockhart and Devin Lockhart; and her brothers, William Craig Smith (Nancy) and Kent Aubrey Smith (Elizabeth).
