It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Oscar Porter of Jemison, Alabama, who passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Porter and Gracie Porter (June Porter); his brothers, C. I. Porter, J. P. Porter, Arnold Porter and Jerry Porter; his son-in-law Michael E. Martin; and his granddaughter Kelly of Washington.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Porter; his children, Roger Porter (Phyllis) and Janice Martin; his grandchildren, Regan Taylor (Ryan), Stefani Porter, Bethany Porter and Caden Crowe; his sisters, Delene Littleton and Doris Brasher (George); his siblings-in-law, Penny Atkinson and Horace Frank Atkinson; and his niece Teresa Brasher.
