He was predeceased by: his parents, Omar Hitchcock and Elizabeth Threadgill Hitchcock; and his siblings, Robert Hitchcock (Joy), Buddy Hitchcock (Cecilia), Zoe Sanderson (John), Ola Tackett, Dot Johnson (Beecher), Judy Naler and Mozelle Kennedy (Gene).
He is survived by: his wife Peggy M. Hitchcock; and his son Ray Hitchcock, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
