It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgie Hughes of Jefferson, Alabama, who passed away on July 20, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Smith and Beatrice Smith; her husbands, Bill Freeze and Forney Hughes; her son Robert "Bobby" Freeze; and her granddaughter Stephanie Cosby.
She is survived by: her children, Charles "Billy" Freeze (Wanda) and Sandra Crowder (Kenneth); and her sister Jean Yonkers (Lloyd). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
