He was predeceased by: his father Bobby Burleson; and his grandparents, Gene, Inez Burleson, Luther and Faye Tatum.

He is survived by: his mother Joy Burleson; and his brothers, Jeff Burleson (Rhonda) and Mike Burleson (Bernice). He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews and a host of extended family.
