He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Irene Jones Cordes; his parents, William Edward and Florence Cordes; his grandson Josh Cordes; his great grandchild Krysta Langley; and his siblings, Price Cordes, Chester Cordes, Othel Cordes, Homer Cordes, Voyt Cordes, Pershing Cordes, Minnie Laurence, Bessy Cordes and Dessy Cordes.
He is survived by: his sons, Wayne Cordes (Pat) of Clanton, AL, Greg Cordes (Mary) of Jasper, AL and Barry Cordes (Donna) of Talladega, AL; his grandchildren, Allison Williams (Chris), Tabitha Langley (Jeff), Jessica Elliott (Bryan), Nikolaus Cordes (Jessica), Landon Cordes (Tania) and Ben Cordes (Hillery); and his sister Christine Hubbert of Terre Haute, IN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
