She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Leroy McCarlis Walker and Rebecca Frances Woodfin Walker (Teepsie); her husband Sam Ross Murphy; and her grandson Lawson Woodfin Murphy, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Catherine Wood Murphy Payne (Louis), Sam Walker (Jane) and Lawson Woodfin (Linda); her grandchildren, Mary Wood Payne Beasley (David), Catherine Thomason Payne Haynes (Bruce), Marion Walker Payne (Denise), Elizabeth Woodfin Murphy Collins (Christopher), Sam Aycock Murphy, Mary Elizabeth Murphy Loomis (Brandon) and John Hinton Murphy (Abby); her great grandchildren, Mary Hunter Beasley Tomlinson (Tommy), Sarah Catherine Beasley, David Muldrow Beasley, Jr. (Hannah), Samuel Ross Beasley, Walker Thomason Haynes, Lawson Edgerton Haynes, Caroline Woodfin Haynes, Mary Frances Beaman Collins, Kathleen Woodfin Collins, Sarah Helen Loomis, Elizabeth Parten Loomis, Anne Claire Loomis, Virginia Grace Loomis, Lawson Woodfin Murphy, III and Margaret Louise Murphy; and her great great grandchildren, Rowan Beckwith Beasley and Lewis Carter Tomlinson.
