He is survived by: his wife Carla Hulsey Simmons; his daughters, Mary Simmons Evans of Birmingham and Lee Douglass Simmons Christoferson (James) of Washington, D. C.; his grandchildren, Mary Douglass Evans and Carl Hulsey Evans; his siblings, Terry Kay Simmons and Billy Hulsey; his sister-in-law Gay Lynn; his child Hansell Lynn Boehme of Birmingham; and also, Josephine Simmons Pankey, Margaret Simmons Parsons, John Gregory Simmons, Steve Hager, Julianne Simmons Cleage, Anna Simmons Gainer, Fred Haston, Richard Haston, Millie Hulsey, Duncan Hulsey, Marilyn Hulsey Dixon and Morley Alexander.
