He was predeceased by: his parents, Recie Skinner and Lucious Skinner; his wife June Uptain Skinner; his parents-in-law, Frank and Stella Uptain; and his grandchild Calub Dockins.

He is survived by: his children, Rebecca, Junior Whitehead, Tammy Culver (John), Jim Skinner and Daniel Skinner; his brother-in-law Carl Uptain; and his grandchildren, Jagger Dockins, Keileigh Hamrick and Nathan Hamrick.
