He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Griffin Taylor and Barbara Ann Taylor; his brother Michael David Taylor; and his grandparents, Griffin, Nora Taylor, Troy, Itress South, Harold and Jimmie Sherer.

He is survived by: his wife Brandie Odom Taylor; his children, Ricky Taylor Jr., Zach Taylor and Sweet Carson Taylor; his grandchildren, Collin, Caleb, Jayden, Roy and Becky Odom; his sister-in-law Terina Gantt (Eddie); his nephews, Jackson Gantt and Joseph Gantt; his aunts and uncles, Judy Sherer, Kandie Sherer, Dean Hall, Linda Miller, Joe Taylor (Peggy) and Benny South (Johnnie); and his former wife Jill Bishop.
