Olene Simmons Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Olene Simmons of Jasper, Alabama, who passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Rex Simmons; her sons, Jim and Johnny Simmons; her parents, Gilbert Short and Essie Tidwell Short; and her sisters, Dean Akins, JoAnn Ingle and Ruby Hatcher.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Gross (Greg) and LuAnn Bailey (Keith); and her siblings, Judy East, Helen Nixon and James Short (Doris). She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Macedonia Baptist Church (205 N Gamble Rd, Jasper, AL 35503). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
