Neal Akins Sr. Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 22, 2023, at the age of 81, Neal Akins Sr. of Jasper, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his former wife Lou Akins; his parents, Bill Akins and Dutch Akins; and his siblings, Coleman Akins, Doug Akins and Evelyn Jones.

He is survived by: his children, Cherrie Lockhart (Mark) and Neal Akins Jr.; his grandchildren, Kristin Colburn (Darin), Bart Lockhart (Amy), Buddy Akins (Tabatha) and Allison Lockhart; his great grandchildren, Hayden, Evan, Eva, Brantley, Bryant, Annslee, Rylan and Rhett; his sisters-in-law, Regina Akins and Marie Akins; his brother Charles Bishop; and his caregiver Shelly Hunter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Walker Area Community Foundation or to an individual in need.
