Martha Opalene Darty Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 21, 2025, at the age of 84, Martha Opalene Darty of Jasper, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William V Dobbins and Wilma Phillips Dobbins; her siblings, Ellis V Dobbins, Vaughn Rigsby and Wendall Dobbins; her grandparents, Harvey and Sara Phillips; and her in-laws, Sam and Rose Darty.
She is survived by: her husband Jimmy E Darty; her children, Joe Darty (Tina), Mike Darty (Vicki), Tim Darty (Misty) and Sherry Darty Henslee (Ken); and her sisters, Sara Postalwait and Dianna Vines. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church (6450 Curry Hwy, Jasper, AL 35503). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Curry Cemetery Fund, 6451 Curry Hwy, Jasper, AL 35503 or to St Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
