He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Sawyer and Meda Waid Sawyer of Jasper, Alabama.; his wife Patricia Mays Sawyer of Carbon Hill; and his siblings, Debbie Sawyer and Ray Sawyer.
He is survived by: his brothers, Jim Sawyer and Dewayne Sawyer; his son Chris Sawyer; his daughter-in-law Laurabeth Doty Sawyer; and his granddaughters, Lauren Sawyer Segars, Hannah Sawyer and Madeline Sawyer.
