She was predeceased by: her granddaughter Emily Upton; her parents, Sally Belle and Jack Lee Hodges; her siblings, John Hodges, Barbara Campbell, Sammy Hodges and Mary-Louise Capps; her grandparents, Samuel and Bertha Scissom; and her parents-in-law, Alvie L. and Mexie B. Upton.
She is survived by: her husband Charles F. Upton; her children, Theresa Bachstein (James), C. Christopher Upton (Lee) and Scott F. Upton (Michele); her grandchildren, Matthew J. Bachstein (Frances), Kayla M. Collins (Brent), Anna Caroline Bachstein and Noah S. Upton; her great grandchildren, Anna Leigh Collins and Cohen Collins; and her siblings, Jacqueline Blevins (Joe), Jimmy Hodges (Iris), Ricky Hodges (Michelle) and Thomas Hodges. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Prospect Baptist Church of Jasper.
