He was predeceased by: his parents, Maskle Wilson and Dewey Wilson of Tuscumbia, AL.; and his siblings, Hershell Wilson of Tuscumbia, AL and Joyce Wilson Mintz of Chattanooga, TN.. He is survived by: his wife Lavonne Crabb Wilson; his children, Lori Wilson Unitt (Joseph) of Carlsbad, CA. and Chad Wilson (Suzy) of Oneonta, AL.; his siblings, Edsul Wilson (Dallas) of Montgomery, AL., Edith Moore of Knoxville, TN. and Melba Madry (Leon) of Tuscumbia, AL.; his grandchildren, Spencer Unitt, Jesse Unitt, Ethan Unitt (Rosanna), Seth Wilson, Ashley Wilson Gossett, Katie Rae Wilson, Kayley Webb (Nick), Hunter McDowell (Breanna) and Carsyn Gilliland (Peyton); his great grandchildren, Breeley Gossett, Brooks Gossett, Reese Webb and Charley Grace McDowell; and his close friends, Hoyt, Betty Picklesimer and Nita Brown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Building Fund at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
