He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie Tidwell; his parents, Rufus M. Tidwell and Lou Ella Aaron Tidwell; and his siblings, R. M. Tidwell, Jr., Ralph Tidwell, Ila Dean Murray (Lige), Elaine Tidwell and Lottie Wallace (Donald "Red").

He is survived by: his daughter Linda Harrison (Jim); his grandson Jacob Harrison (Whitney); his nieces, Beverly Williams (Ray), Cathy Patton (Charles) and Dr. Cindy Angelette (CJ); and his sister-in-law Ethil Tidwell.
