She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon R. Isbell and Frances Griffith Isbell; her husband Caine O'Rear Jr.; and her siblings, Gordon R. Isbell, Jr. and Annette I. Hornsby.

She is survived by: her sons, Caine O'Rear III (Gwen), George Isbell O'Rear (Kathy) and Gordon Griffith O'Rear; her grandchildren, Caine O'Rear IV, Howell Griffith O'Rear (Kelly), Wesley Dodd O'Rear, George Isbell O'Rear (Riley), Matson Greer O'Rear (Sara), Claire Dean O'Rear (Abe Boykins III), Winston Griffith O'Rear and Lorin Alyssa O'Rear; and her great grandchildren, Jet Brown O'Rear, Estelle Cherry O'Rear, Lewis Bartlett O'Rear, Cooper Barclay O'Rear, Charles Isbell O'Rear and George Porter O'Rear.

Kathryn was an active member of her community, including past president of the United Methodist Women, eight-time winner of the Musgrove Country Club Women's Golf Championship and avid volunteer with the Walker Area Community Foundation (WACF).
