She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Wayne Ellis of Oakman; her children, Wendy Gail Ellis and Kevin Wayne Ellis; her grandson Tyler Eugene Pennington; her parents, Clifton Hyde and Jessie Mae Hyde of Parrish; her mother-in-law Margret Dozier of Jasper; and her brothers-in-law, Dr. Ed Abernathy of Jasper and Jerry Dozier of Jasper.

She is survived by: her daughter Kimberly Ellis Pennington (Nathan) of Jasper; her granddaughters, Emily and Brooklyn Pennington; her sisters, Shirley Madison (Ray), Debra Sprouse (Rick), Doris Franklin and Cathy Abernathy (Marion Combs); and her father-in-law Bill Ellis of Townley. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
